Developed the measurement model and is responsible for technology and product: what gets measured, how it is computed and what of it reaches the app.
We are Jonas and Jonathan. We measure the rhythm of your golf swing and explain what the numbers mean.
Jonas developed the measurement model behind DeepGolf in his master's thesis at TU Munich, trained on real swing data recorded alongside reference sensors. His background: design, ergonomics and machine learning. Only afterwards did it become an app.
Measurement uses the sensors already built into Apple Watch and iPhone: 100 Hz at the wrist, processed on the device, without extra hardware.
“What interests me is what can be measured at the wrist. What the app shows has to come from the measurement, not from a feeling.”
Since September 2026 there have been two of us: Jonas builds the measurement, Jonathan keeps everything around it running.

An industrial engineer, with us since September 2026. He looks after operations, organisation and the commercial side: everything that has to run alongside development.
DeepGolf is funded by the EXIST founder scholarship of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, through TU Munich, at the Professorship for Cyber-Physical Systems in Heilbronn. Added to that is support from TUM Venture Labs Software & AI and the Campus Founders.
